PCTSoundMusicWhat a great opportunity Collin County presents for the children of Lovejoy!  Earlier this fall, four of our very own Hart students and one 6th grade from Sloan Creek earned various roles in the Plano Community Theatre's youth production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Sound of Music" at The Courtyard Theatre in Plano.  They've been rehearsing all fall, and there is still time to see one of the performances this weekend.

Jordan Duncan and Mary Catherine Wells, both third graders at Hart Elementary, are sharing the role of Brigitta, the precocious 9-year-old who speaks her mind and tells Maria what she might not figure out on her own!  While this is Mary Catherine's first performance, Jordan is a veteran of local youth theatre productions.  Sisters Arianna and Ciarra Buchanan play the roles of Marta and Kurt, respectively.  Ciarra is a first-grader at Hart, and Arianna is in the third grade.  Their proud mother, Sharon, is the art teacher at Hart Elementary.  Sean Mcleskey, a 6th grader at SCMS, earned the spot of Fredrick in all 10 performances.

Productions this weekend include Thursday, November 6, at 7:15, Friday November 7, at 7:15, Saturday November 8, at 2:15 and 7:15, and Sunday, November 9 at 2:15 at The Courtyard Theatre, 1509 Avenue H, in Plano.  Tickets are $7 in advance and $9 at the door.  For tickets, call 972-422-2575.  Visit the PCT website at www.planocommunitytheatre.com.

About This Site

So much can be said in a name. In our case, our name says it all. First and foremost, this web site is a labor of love by a group of parents to celebrate the school district that is the heart of our community.

Lovejoy is a community of students, teachers, staff, parents, grandparents and residents of all ages. This is a web site by and for our community. There are so many good things happening in this community on a daily basis that we had to dedicate a whole web site to showcase them.

We hope this web site will be a source of inspiration, and we invite all of you to share the love that is Lovejoy!
