Lovejoy ISD's 5th grade trip to the Collin County Adventure Camp September 30-October 1 was a huge success!  Students from all 3 Lovejoy elementary campuses enjoyed a busy agenda of hands-on outdoor learning activities together.

The full schedule of classes and activities included teambuilding exercises in the challenge course area; examining water samples under the microscope from the lake; guided hikes on nature trails with learning stations along the way; digging in the dirt to learn about prairie soils; canoeing and fishing on the lake; archery and much more.

One of the highlights for many students came near the end of camp at the campfire on the last night.  Students from all 3 elementaries gathered at the lake and took part in the campfire, which was led by the camp staff.  The staff performed skits, which included some student participation from the audience, and led the students in traditional camp chants.  The students, teachers, assistant principals and parents at camp were joined at the campfire by the principals from their respective schools, who came for a special visit that evening.  A good time was had by all!

Thank you to the teachers and staff from all 3 schools, the assistant principals Mr. James, Mrs. Jasenof and Mr. Parker, and the entire camp staff for making this years' camp great for our Lovejoy 5th grade students!
