The first annual Lovejoy Fine Arts Festival will start at noon on Saturday Dec. 12 at Lovejoy High School. Admission is free. The festival will showcase the artistic talents of Lovejoy ISD students in the fine arts departments. Three stages will host various performances by Lovejoy fine arts students. Plus kids' art stations, karaoke, and a photo opportunity with the real Santa and Mrs. Claus. Bring your camera! A chili meal and baked goodies will be available for purchase. Your eyes, ears, and taste buds are in for a treat! The festival will last from noon to 6:30 p.m.. But the climatic LHS choir performance will close out the evening at 6:30 p.m. on the main auditorium stage. 

We encourage you to bring at least two canned goods for Allen Community Outreach.

Another community event, held at the same time, is the art department's Empty Bowls project.  The Empty Bowl Project is an organization that brings awareness to both local and world hunger. LISD art students in all grades K-12 learn about what hunger means, how it affects their community, and then they create a clay bowl. Students donate this bowl in order to raise money for a local food shelter (in our case, the Samaritan Inn). Last year, students raised $3,000 for the Samaritan Inn! This year, they had a special speaker from the Samaritan Inn come talk to the students about what their money would be used for and how they could serve other ways at their facilities.

The Festival is planned by a committee representing the four different LHS fine arts booster clubs (band, choir, theater, and Majestics dance team) plus orchestra parents and fine arts teaching staff at all schools.
