To All Lovejoy High School Parents and LHS PTSA members

The Lovejoy ISD Council of PTAs has been asked to provide volunteers for the:

Texas Council For The Social Studies
57th Annual Conference:  From Prairie to Prosperity
October 30-31 & November 1, 2009
Dallas Hyatt Regency, Dallas, TX

The "Lovejoy Council for the Social Studies" is the host Council for this conference.

Beverly Smith, the Curriculum specialist for Social Studies in our district is the Lead Chairperson for this statewide conference.

We need 6 to 8 volunteers for each day to work at the Hyatt.

We are hoping our High School parents with students that are already driving to and from school, might have more availability to help us fill this volunteer need!  The 6 to 8 volunteers will help with the breakfast registrations on Friday, Oct. 30th, Saturday Oct. 31st, and the Brunch registration on Sunday, November 1st.  We will provide support as needed in the Conference Registration area, the Exhibit Hall and the Presenters area until 11:30 am, when the conference breaks for lunch.   Friday and Saturday morning we will meet and carpool from Lovejoy High School at approximately 5:30 am and return at noon.  Sunday morning we will leave LHS at approximately 8:00 am, help with the registration for the Sunday Brunch, and return to LHS at noon.

We also need 2 volunteers to go together on Friday and Saturday morning to pickup food trays from Sams in Plano and take them to the Dallas Hyatt, this will help our Council provide lunch to the Exhibitors.

If you are able to help on any of these mornings or if you have any questions, please email Becky Campbell, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

About This Site

So much can be said in a name. In our case, our name says it all. First and foremost, this web site is a labor of love by a group of parents to celebrate the school district that is the heart of our community.

Lovejoy is a community of students, teachers, staff, parents, grandparents and residents of all ages. This is a web site by and for our community. There are so many good things happening in this community on a daily basis that we had to dedicate a whole web site to showcase them.

We hope this web site will be a source of inspiration, and we invite all of you to share the love that is Lovejoy!
