<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Dear Lovejoy Community:
You are invited to join us to celebrate and honor Mike Goddard and his work in developing <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />LovejoyHigh School. We have decided to join his celebration with a student performance that is an excellent example of the quality at LovejoyHigh School. The LHS Choral Department is presenting Pop Show 2010: Legacy on May 21, 2010, at 7:00 pm in the Auditorium. We thought a show focused on Legacy was a great match for Dr. Goddard’s mission in LISD. Please join us for the show at 7:00 pm or join us to celebrate Mike’s work at a reception immediately following in the student commons. If you are coming for the reception only, we recommend that you arrive at 9:00 pm.
Pop Show 2010: LEGACY
The award-winning Lovejoy Choirs will perform songs from a vast array of
artists who left a musical legacy, including The Beatles, Aretha Franklin,
Journey, Stevie Wonder, Dolly Parton, Michael Jackson, and many more. From
an entirely a cappella version of Bohemian Rhapsody to the crowd-pleasing
Sweet Caroline, the Legacy Pop Show promises to be a night of incredible
entertainment. The two hour show (including intermission) will feature all
of the choirs, ensembles, and over 60 soloists. Do not miss the one and
only performance on Friday night, May 21 at 7:00 pm in the LHS Auditorium.
Tickets are only $3 and may be purchased in the LovejoySchool store or at
the door.

On-line Registration Is Open for the Lovejoy Country Run
The Lovejoy Country Run 5K race and 1K fun run is set for May 15. On-line registration is now open at www.LukesLocker.com and at www.thelovejoycountryrun.com. This is the fourth year for the event, and the number of runners will reach over 1,000 this year. Proceeds are split between the 13 athletic booster clubs at LHS. Young runners have a great time running the 1K fun run on the school track and running through the inflatable leopard head used at varsity football games. All ages compete for trophies and medals on the certified 5K race course which runs up Rock Ridge Road. As always, the pancake breakfast, bounce houses, face painting, and live band "Beat Red" make for a festive morning. Don't miss the fun. Check out our website and photos at www.TheLovejoyCountryRun.org.
Our Lovejoy athletes will be competing at the state level next week. The state tennis meet is Monday and Tuesday and the state track meet is Friday and Saturday. I will share results when they are available.
Have a great weekend.
Respectfully,
Ted Moore
