Dear Lovejoy Community:

I hope you are enjoying the last few weeks before school starts. It looks like the 100 degree days are going to continue for a while. All LISD staff will return to work on Monday, August 16, and we look forward to welcoming your sons and daughters back to school on August 23. Monday, August 16, is our convocation day and all LISD offices will be participating in this event during the morning and will return to our offices at 1:00 pm.

LISD Board of Trustees

The Board met last night for a study session and for the purpose of conducting the annual summative evaluation of the superintendent. In addition to my evaluation, the board discussed priority areas for the district. The regular August meeting of the LISD Board of Trustees is scheduled for next Tuesday, August 17^th. The open session of the board meeting will begin at 7:30 pm and you are invited and encouraged to attend. Cell Phone Use

Our policy continues to allow our students to have personal cell phones in their possession. In general, students are free to use their phones except during class time. Please remember that some phones are internet enabled which will allow kids to be on the internet without the filtering that occurs on the district network. We have made some edits to our Acceptable Use Policy to inform our students that they will be held accountable for accessing any inappropriate material even if they are using their personal cell phone on school property or at a school event.
