Dear Lovejoy Community:

We have finished the second week of school and from my perspective we have had a smooth start. If you still have concerns at your campus that you have not been able to solve, please let me hear from you at either This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. I completely understand that we have not yet had a great start of school until it is great for the sons and/or daughters that live at your house.

Friday Night Lights

Our first home football game of the 2010 season is tonight at Leopard Stadium beginning at 7:30 pm vs. the Paris Wildcats. I would expect a large crowd as all reserved seats are already sold. The Leopard band is starting a new tradition of doing a pre-game concert on the track in from of the home stands. They will begin to play at 7:00 pm.

Lucas Christian Academy—In the Home Stretch

I told you about the contest that Kohl’s is running to award a $500,000 cash prize to 20 schools. The contest runs through Facebook and our local private school, Lucas Christian, is now in first place and if they can hold their position until midnight tonight, they will get the half million dollar prize. I have been told that they could pay off the note on their property ($499,000) if they win this contest. They will set up tonight at Leopard stadium with their laptops, if you would like to vote before the midnight deadline. Also, if you would like to help, follow this link: http://apps.facebook.com/KohlsCares/search.

Leopard Volleyball—A Rebuilding Year?

LHS graduated 8 Seniors from last year’s state championship team and is returning 3 athletes from last year's team.  This year’s record is 23-3 after defeating the #1 ranked 4A team JJ Pearce this week.  Lonestarvolleyball.com has Lovejoy Volleyball rated #2 in the entire state regardless of classification.  Prepvolleyball.com just released its' National Rankings and Lovejoy is ranked #18 in the nation.  Lovejoy recently won the Allen Texas Open and placed 5th in the Pearland Nike Classic dropping only one match the entire weekend to eventual champion CC King.  Lovejoy's next home match will be on Tuesday September 7, 2010 when they will host Allen at 6:30 p.m.

Cheerleaders! For registration forms and information, please contact Karen Drake at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Leopard Friday—September 24th

One of my favorite Lovejoy traditions is just around the corner. For the fourth consecutive year, the Lovejoy Council of PTAs is sponsoring our Leopard Friday events. In addition to the Friday night football game vs. Abilene Wylie (who knocked the Leopards out of the state semi-finals last year in the last 8 seconds of the game) there will be free activities for the entire family in the courtyard. There will also be a catered BBQ dinner in the gym. This dinner is not a fundraiser for the PTA and tickets are sold at cost for a very hearty meal. Details about ticket sales are in the attached link,

Leopard Friday , and BBQ tickets will be on sale at the home football game tonight.

Please enjoy a great 3-Day weekend with family and friends. It looks like we are going to have some pleasant weather this weekend.

With Respect,

Ted Moore

Superintendent

So much can be said in a name. In our case, our name says it all. First and foremost, this web site is a labor of love by a group of parents to celebrate the school district that is the heart of our community.
