Dear Lovejoy Community:

Tonight was our regularly schedule June meeting for the Lovejoy ISD Board of Trustees. The board did name a principal for <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />SloanCreekMiddle School. We have now removed the interim from his title and Kent Messer is the principal for SCMS.

Kent is the father of 3 boys whose names all begin with “C”. Coleson is 5 years old and will begin Kindergarten at Hart next year and will be followed by Case (2) and Crews (1). Kent’s wife, Jennifer, is an attorney at Winstead PC in Dallas.

Kent grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and played college baseball and received his undergraduate degree from EmporiaState in Emporia, Kansas. In addition to being an athlete, Kent is also well known for his passion for music. At both Highland ParkHigh School and SloanCreekMiddle School he has worked with students interested in playing the guitar. You may have also caught one of his performances at various district and community events.

Kent joined the Lovejoy leadership team in 2006 as an assistant principal. He worked with Gavan Goodrich and Mike Goddard for the first two years when all were housed at LHS. For the past two years, he has served as an assistant principal at Sloan Creek. Kent knows the Lovejoy system and our kids and is ready to assume the leadership role as principal at SloanCreekMiddle School.

Kent has done an outstanding job to date in Lovejoy and will continue to lead Sloan Creek in a manner consistent with the

Lovejoy Way
. I am proud to have him on our team.

I hope you are having a wonderful summer.

With Respect,

Ted Moore

Superintendent

Lovejoy ISD
