Successful Round of Testing

We have completed another successful round of TAKS testing this week. Thank you to all of our parent volunteers who helped with morning duty! You cannot believe how much your support adds to a smooth beginning each day we are testing!

Check out our Butterflies in Second Grade

We have two items for you to view this week about our butterflies. First off we have a link to a movie in which second grade students share pieces of the learning taking place in their classrooms around the life cycle of a butterfly. Enjoy!

We are also very excited to share that our students now have access to a live feed through the internet to check out our butterflies! Through the use of our newly purchased webcam, you can click on the IP address below and view a live stream of the butterflies emerging from the chrysalis.

First Grade Families stay tuned because the webcam will be moving to the first grade classrooms to feature your chicks when it is time for them to hatch.

It is hard to believe this is the last week of April. The mighty month of May is a few days away and that means the end of this school year is near. May also brings a calendar full of events to celebrate the great successes we have achieved this year. Please keep a close eye on our Mark Your Calendar section of the email updates so that you do not miss out on any of the upcoming fun.

This weekend is full of baseball at the Foster house, so I am looking forward to watching the boys play and hope the weather stays dry. For all of you baseball fans, I can recommend a new movie,The Perfect Game, based on the 1957 Little League World Series. Last weekend we saw the movie with our son Caden's team. It was a fun time with friends and the movie was truly an inspiration. If you are any type of sports fan, this is a movie worth seeing.

On-line Registration Is Open for the Lovejoy Country Run

The Lovejoy Country Run 5K race and 1K fun run is set for May 15. On-line registration is now open at www.LukesLocker.com.

Judges Needed for Senior Project presentations May 17, May 20 and safety net May 25.

Lovejoy High School seniors invite you to volunteer to be a judge at the presentation of their year long work on their Senior Project. The presentations and judging training will be Monday, May 17, Thursday, May 20 and a safety net presentation May 25 at Lovejoy High School. Judges training will start in the Library at 5:30 p.m. and presentations start at 6:30 p.m. each evening. If you elect to judge more than one evening, you should arrive for your 2nd evening at before 6 p.m. in order to browse the portfolios of the 6 seniors you will be scoring and to meet the 4 other judges on your team. Summer Enrichment Camps

The Office of Child Care Services is very excited to announce Summer Enrichment 2010. We are offering a variety of camps for students ages 3 through 6^th grade and art camps for teens. Lovejoy Leopard Football Program:

This fall the Lovejoy Leopards will play Varsity Football for the 3rd year. We had such a great season for 2009 and we are so excited about the 2010 season and would like to invite you to be a part of it. The theme this year is "FINISH IT!". Our first home game will be September 3rd, 2010. It is time once again time to start selling ads for the program which will be sold at all 6 home games.
