Hart Families and Friends,
Children's Book Week a Big Hit!
Today we have lots of kiddos dressed up as their favorite book characters throughout the building in honor of Children's Book Week. I have seen students dressed as Pinkalicious, Junie B Jones, Buzz Light Year, Woody, Laura Ingalls, Harry Potter, Thing I and Thing II, Fancy Nancy, and much, much more. Even our teachers have dressed up like characters from The Wizard of OZ, The Three Little Pigs, The Grouchy Ladybug, Chicken Little, Ruby the Copycat, Charlotte's Web and Caps for Sale! Be sure to join us for our Parade of Characters at 2:15 today and a Special Hart Beat in honor of Children's Book Week! We have a new cheer and dance that will be featured for the first time today and you do not want to miss it!
Family Fun Night
Mark your calendar's for Hart Family Fun Night on Monday, May 24th from 6:00-8:00 PM at Hart. We will have free food, music, games, bounce houses and lots of good times for everyone. We have also had many requests to purchase the pictures of students that we have hanging around the building this year. As a result, we have decided to hold a silent auction for the pictures from 6:30-7:30 during Family Fun Night.
The money raised will be used to purchase new pictures for next year. The students truly have enjoyed having the pictures in the building and I love that they serve as a great reminder of the reason why we are here! So if you want a chance to take home one of the pictures, be sure to be here between 6:30 and 7:30. We will not collect money on the 24th, but will do so at a later time.

Today was a lot of fun during morning drop off seeing the kids get out of their cars in costume. I think my favorite line of the day came from a kindergarten student as I passed her in the hall. She said, "Mrs. Foster, you're a pig!" I decided not to take it personally because I was wearing a tail, pig ears and a pig nose, so the comment made sense! Luckily the pig costume pieces are all detachable so that when I head to the ball fields tonight I will not be setting myself up for any additional comments!
Seriously though, Mrs. Larriviere and Mrs. Parrott have made Children's Book Week a wonderful week of fun for the kids and staff. What a great way to celebrate reading, books and learning! I am looking forward to this afternoon's Parade of Characters and Hart Beat! I hope to see many of you there!
Have a great weekend,
Kathy :)
