Howdy from Hart, This has been a very wet week! We have enjoyed the fun of wet mornings during car pool, wet days with only inside recess as well as a few wet afternoon dismissals! Our rain gear has probably gotten more use this week than it has had in a very long time! Thank you for your patience and hopefully next week will bring more sunshine! Even though it has been raining outside, our building remains full of sun shining faces who love coming to school at Hart! We have also had a great curriculum night for Kinder and First grades and look forward to Fourth and Fifth grade tonight! Next week we will host Second and Third grades on Tuesday, September 14th, so mark your calendars. More information about upcoming events is listed below, so remember to continue scrolling down the page. Don't forget that Picture Day is tomorrow!!!!!!! I hope you are able to enjoy a dry weekend and that your outside activities and events don't get rained out! I have to admit, these last few days have been a nice break from practices with all of the rain. On the other hand, a house full of boys missing their outside practice time can have it's disadvantages. I came home yesterday and found furniture rearranged so that the boys could play football in the house. Nothing was broken (that I could see), but I am still looking for a missing candlestick that was on a table. :) Have a great weekend! Kathy :) Upcoming Events and Hart Announcements: September 9 5:30 4th Grade Curriculum Night 6:30 5th Grade Curriculum Night & Camp Meeting Camp information: http://www.lovejoyisd.net/MP.cfm?P=4237& September 10 Picture Day -- Don't forget to send in your order form! The 2010-2011 school year is off to a great start at Hart Elementary! The library is up and going, and all classes have visited the library for Library Orientation. As of this morning, we have already had 3,273 items checked out for this school year -- and it is only our third week of school! With so much activity in the library, we would love to have as many parent volunteers as possible to help with shelving books, processing new materials, assisting students, making book displays, keeping our technology equipment up and going, etc. We will have a Library Volunteer Orientation Tuesday, September 21st at 9:30 in the library, so that we can go over some of the procedures of the library. We invite you to attend this orientation, and sign up for a time that you would like to volunteer. If you are unable to make the orientation -- no problem!! Just send an e-mail to either Jennifer Larriviere or Barby Parrott, and we can get you scheduled. We understand that everyone's schedules are so very busy. Because of this, we welcome any and all volunteers! You can sign up for a weekly time slot, a twice a month time slot, and of course, we always welcome anyone that wants to drop in and help for a little bit when they are able!
