Dear Parents and Guardians,

I was at "Our Town" play practice last night and was amazed at how much our students have matured over the past three years.  I remember the current 8th graders zooming back and forth down the 6th grade hall at LovejoyHigh School.

While the students are much larger and looking like high schoolers, they have also grown in their maturity, calmness, and the way they worked with the director, Ms. DiPasquale.  The kids also seemed relaxed and enjoying themselves.  As I reflect on the current 8th grade, they have made a real mark on our school; they have made it a better place.  I will miss seeing them zoom around the halls here at Sloan Creek.

Have a great week,

Gavan

Textbook Return Starts This Week

Students will need to bring their entire set of home textbooks to school to turn in this week and next.  Bring a book or two each day and store them in your locker until collection time.  Textbooks will be collected during your math class as follows:

·        6th grade was collected on Monday, May 17th

·        7th grade will begin collection on Wednesday, May 19th

·        8th grade will begin collection on Monday, May 24th

·        Having a complete set of books is recommended before they are checked in

Morning Drop-Off

Now that early morning athletics has shifted to off-season work outs, we have a lot more traffic around 7:45- 8:00 a.m. Please be patient as you enter the north entrance.

It is advised that parents drop off students in the back of the school, near the court yard. This will allow more room for cars to enter into the Sloan Creek driveway.  Avoid dropping off near the locker room entrance as well as making U-turns. Please drop-off at the back of the school and proceed around to the southern exit. Thanks for your help the last two and a half weeks of school.

SCMS Cafeteria

Beginning Monday, May 17th, students with a negative balance in their lunch account will no longer be able to charge to their account (they will be offered an alternate meal).
