How to Submit Items

  • On various points of the site, there are links to submit items via email to various content editors on the site.  If there is not an email dedicated to a section, click on the Contact Us Link.  Do not send submissions to anyone's personal email address.
  • Please type descriptive information in the subject line and what section where the content should be placed.  The decision of the content editors is final for placement.  For example put “Content Submission – Hart News".
  • Items for publication should be included in the body of the email, not as attachments, due to software differences.
  • We have some rules that will help us – but we are more interested in getting the content than not , so if you would be kind as to follow some of the suggestions below, we would appreciate it!

When to Submit Items

  • Feel free to submit items at anytime as the site is updated on a frequent but unscheduled basis.  The site is maintained by volunteers and so please respect our volunteers and get submissions which have a time component to them early enough to complete the editorial and review process.
  • If submitted in advance, indicate in the body of the message which day to publish the article.  We will publish most items on that date if possible but we cannot guarantee we will be able to post on the exact date.

What to Submit

  • Submissions should be CONCISE, and include the relevant information such as the organization name, event, date, time, location, and appropriate web URLs. Submissions missing vital information may not be published in a timely manner.  As a way of remembering, ask yourself if the content answers the questions, “who, what, why, where and when?”.
  • Please spellcheck/proofread submissions first, and format them in Arial 10 pt for the main body of the text.  Text formatting such as italics, bold, and similar treatments are just fine.
  • Acceptable hyphenations are “Lovejoy ISD”; “Elem”, "ES" or “EL” for Elemenatary; “MS” for Middle School; “HS” for High School”; and “LJF” for Lovejoy Foundation.  Others will be added from time to time.  If you have a question it is always best to spell out all proper nouns.
  • We welcome all kinds of submissions but reserve the right to change edit the content or ask for clarification.  We accept images, URLs, and quotes.
  • NO COPYRIGHTED material will be accepted.  If it is an article or section from another organization, it is acceptable to link to the other site rather than copying and pasting the content and submitting it as your own.  Just like print media, the web must respect all copyright laws.  If you quote, then cite your source.  It is simple and only takes a few minutes.
  • All content will be published in HTML format.  Plain text is fine, but will be converted to HTML.

General Information

  • The LoveJoyLove.org team and advisors reserve the right to edit or reject submissions without notice.  Volunteers maintain the content of the site but the “Editor-at-large” has the final say, and the decision is final.  Plainly speaking, ask yourself if it benefits/promotes/encourages/informs the students, teachers, district personnel, or parents of the district before submitting.
  • LoveJoyLove.org is a non-profit organization staffed by volunteers who are passionate to give our audience stories about the district.  It is intended that the site will present a positive-oriented message that is non-political in nature.  If a submission contains rumor or gossip the content will be rejected.  While we are not a newspaper, we will try to consider what a newspaper might do with the content when considering its usefulness to the site and whether to publish.
  • Ask yourself if it benefits/promotes/encourages/informs the students, teachers, district personnel, or parents of the district before submitting.

About This Site

So much can be said in a name. In our case, our name says it all. First and foremost, this web site is a labor of love by a group of parents to celebrate the school district that is the heart of our community.

Lovejoy is a community of students, teachers, staff, parents, grandparents and residents of all ages. This is a web site by and for our community. There are so many good things happening in this community on a daily basis that we had to dedicate a whole web site to showcase them.

We hope this web site will be a source of inspiration, and we invite all of you to share the love that is Lovejoy!
