HartBluebonnetAlmost 50 third, fourth, and fifth graders are staying after school on Tuesdays to hear Mrs. Burnett read Bluebonnet books in the library.  The Bluebonnet program is a Texas reading program started in 1979 to encourage students to read and explore a variety of books and identify their favorites.  Each year a list of 20 nominees are chosen for the Bluebonnet List, and students who read at least 5 of those 20 get to vote for their favorite in late January.  Voting day is an exciting at Hart with Voter Registration cards, Voting booths, and "I Voted" stickers.  A tally of those votes is sent to Austin to be compiled with the others from around state, and the Texas winner is announced in February or March.  There were almost 200,000 voters in Texas last year!  Hart voters are invited to a celebration party for the winner, complete with treats and games, and an introduction to next year's list, and we're off reading again!

About This Site

So much can be said in a name. In our case, our name says it all. First and foremost, this web site is a labor of love by a group of parents to celebrate the school district that is the heart of our community.

Lovejoy is a community of students, teachers, staff, parents, grandparents and residents of all ages. This is a web site by and for our community. There are so many good things happening in this community on a daily basis that we had to dedicate a whole web site to showcase them.

We hope this web site will be a source of inspiration, and we invite all of you to share the love that is Lovejoy!
