Hart Families and Friends,
It has been another great week at Hart Elementary! I have had the best time visiting classes and seeing our students taking part in engaging and meaningful learning activities in their classrooms!
This year we are implementing a new resource for Math called Investigations. I have to say that I am truly impressed with the depth of learning our students are experiencing and the incredible energy and excitement that can be seen on our students faces during math time!
Our teachers will share more about Investigations during the upcoming curriculum nights, but what I can add is that our students are truly excited about the learning activities they are experiencing in their classrooms.
Please be sure to join us for our curriculum nights listed below. We kick them off tonight with 4th and 5th grade meetings and 5th grade will also address camp.
5:30 4th Grade
6:30 5th Grade
Reading with the Leopards
Our own LHS football players, trainers and cheerleaders will be here next Friday morning, September 11th, to greet our students and rally school spirit for the varsity football game. The high school students will join our students in their classrooms and read a story to get the day off to a great start! This experience is a treat and a special connection to the high school students in our community!
Superintendent Letter
Attached you will find a letter from Mr. Moore outlining the district plan regarding the Presidential Address.
I hope you all have a super weekend and enjoy the extra day off. I am looking forward to cool weather so that the Foster Family can work in the yard! We have an extra hole in our backyard that needs to be repaired because our youngest son found a nest with baby rabbits and decided that they needed a new home (hence the new hole in the yard). He wanted to keep them safely hidden from our dogs.
The next morning he went out to check on the rabbits and found them safe in their nest. He came running back in the house saying, "They like me, they stayed, can we keep them?" It was a sweet moment, but I can assure you that the rabbits are still outside friends of the family and have not taken up permanent residence!
Enjoy your family this weekend,
Kathy :)
