Hart Families and Friends,

Veteran's Day Celebration
This Tuesday we kicked off Veteran's day with a spontaneous, patriotic
choir performance during morning drop off. Thanks to everyone who helped
our students arrive early for this special event. The students had so
much fun that we are going to invite them back to sing their holiday
favorites one morning in December.
Our 5th grade students had the opportunity to visit Heritage Ranch on
Veteran's Day to learn from local veterans about their experiences
during war time. The students had such a great time they couldn't stop
talking about what they learned and how much they enjoyed the
experience. We also received positive feedback on how well behaved and
appreciative our students were during their visit. Way to go 5th grade!
Don't forget to join us this coming Thursday, November 19th, for the
4th and 5th grade Veteran's Day performance at the high school.

Going Home Changes
If you have last minute changes on how your child will go home after
school, please contact the office at your earliest convenience and we
will send the message to the teachers. If you email your child's teacher
in the afternoon, they may not see the email before dismissal. Thanks
for your help.

Hart Happenings...

Student Council is doing a great job leading our community service
project by selling "Thankful Notes". Don't miss your chance to purchase
one during lunch time!

Our Kinder students had a chance to hear from Mr. Rich Hickman, LISD
School Board President, as he shared with them what it means to be a
community leader.

First Grade students have been using technology tools to interview
friends or family about how technology has changed over the years and
then created their first video podcast to share what they learned!

During Art the 5th grade students have been working on their bowls for
the Fine Arts Festival. I was fortunate enough to be able to make one
too!

Hart students reached our goal of submitting over 300 entries to this
year's PTA Reflection's Contest! Way to go Hart!

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend,
Kathy :)

interested players.  You will see a demonstration of the game and get to

Dads Club Basketball

The Lovejoy ISD dads meet every Wednesday (closed holidays) at Sloan
Creek Middle School for Basketball.  The gym hours are from 7- 9 pm.
This activity is part of the Lovejoy ISD Dads Club and is restricted by
the district to Lovejoy ISD taxpayers and staff, so please no ringers,
college buddies, co-workers, etc. (unless they live or work in the
districts).  The general idea is for the dads to get to know each other
and get a little exercise at the same time.  If you know other dads that
want to play, please have them contact Jason Vaughn at
This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to be added to the distribution list.

We play at Sloan Creek Middle School which is located on the east side
of Country Club Road north of Stacy Road.  The Gym's are located in the
back northeast corner of the school.   Enter around the back of the
school through the glass double doors by the tennis courts.  The doors
will be unlocked and we will be in one of the gyms and then just follow
the sounds of bones creaking and heavy breathing to the gym.

About This Site

So much can be said in a name. In our case, our name says it all. First and foremost, this web site is a labor of love by a group of parents to celebrate the school district that is the heart of our community.

Lovejoy is a community of students, teachers, staff, parents, grandparents and residents of all ages. This is a web site by and for our community. There are so many good things happening in this community on a daily basis that we had to dedicate a whole web site to showcase them.

We hope this web site will be a source of inspiration, and we invite all of you to share the love that is Lovejoy!
