Seven families were brought some Christmas cheer this year from Lovejoy Elementary.  The students at Lovejoy generously donated trees, ornaments and all the trimmings to give these families a beautiful Christmas.  All of the families currently have someone battling cancer in them and putting up a tree might have not been on their list of things to do this year. Thanks to the organization Kare-n for Cancer, these families had that done for them.  Each of the trees had a theme to make it unique.  We had a Texas tree, snow tree and an all red tree just to name a few.  One family near and dear to Lovejoy also received a tree.  It was our very own Kindergarten gingerbread man tree that went to Hayden Hayes.  She is the 3 year old granddaughter of Florence Butler the Lovejoy HS librarian.  Hayden has battled cancer since September and she was very lucky to make it to her third birthday in December and to be here to enjoy Christmas.  To see the Channel 8 news video on Hayden click here:
