What an honor it was on November 11th to honor veterans on Veterans Day.  Lovejoy students invited family members who have served in our armed forces to come and be recognized for their outstanding service to our country.  Glen Miller, 4th grade teacher and retired Lt. Colonel, worked together with Mrs. Amy Bradsher, 2nd grade teacher, to plan the ceremony.  Mrs. Bradsher’s husband is currently serving as a Lt. Colonel in the National Army Guard.   Our veterans were honored during a ceremony that included our own Boy Scout troop presenting the flags, a medley of music showcasing each of the branches, a video about about Veterans Day from the Veterans Administration and Mrs. Hebert playing Taps on her flute.  It was a very moving experience that taught our students just how important it is to honor and respect veterans.  After the ceremony, the visiting veterans were treated to a luncheon to show them our appreciation for all of their sacrifice and loyalty to their country.

About This Site

So much can be said in a name. In our case, our name says it all. First and foremost, this web site is a labor of love by a group of parents to celebrate the school district that is the heart of our community.

Lovejoy is a community of students, teachers, staff, parents, grandparents and residents of all ages. This is a web site by and for our community. There are so many good things happening in this community on a daily basis that we had to dedicate a whole web site to showcase them.

We hope this web site will be a source of inspiration, and we invite all of you to share the love that is Lovejoy!
