Lovejoy High School’s principal Mike Goddard arrived in Haiti Sunday morning April 25th to deliver to orphanages some of the food that was packaged by the high schoolers during the Big Event on Friday, April 23rd.  Utilizing 30-minute shifts during the Big Event, all members of the high school student body and teachers took their turn in assisting the packaging of over 115,000 meals!  A portion of these meals will stay in our local community, benefiting Allen Community Outreach, the Samaritan Inn, and the Allen Food Pantry.  The entire student body focused on the Graduate Profile, including “Working for Justice in the Community.” Stations were set up throughout the high school where the students talked about what it would be like to have to go “a day without shoes,” saw a Senior Project presentation on Three Cups of Tea’s gender equality issue, wrote letters to USA soldiers, made coloring books for orphans in Haiti and patients at Scottish Rite Hospital, and wrote cards of encouragement—in French!—to orphans in Haiti.  Way to go, Lovejoy high schoolers!!

About This Site

So much can be said in a name. In our case, our name says it all. First and foremost, this web site is a labor of love by a group of parents to celebrate the school district that is the heart of our community.

Lovejoy is a community of students, teachers, staff, parents, grandparents and residents of all ages. This is a web site by and for our community. There are so many good things happening in this community on a daily basis that we had to dedicate a whole web site to showcase them.

We hope this web site will be a source of inspiration, and we invite all of you to share the love that is Lovejoy!
