The journey to Sweepstakes and the coveted Trophy

Congratulations to Symphonic and Honors Bands for making all Ones (Superior) at their UIL Concert in Pottsboro!

The journey to Sweepstakes is a year long process that many schools never reach. At the UIL Concert and Sight-reading Contest, a majority of superior (class 1) ratings in both concert and sight-reading from the judges gives you an over-all rating of superior (class 1). The band must receive superior ratings for both marching band and concert and sight-reading contest to receive the desirable Sweepstakes Trophy, an accomplishment that is rarely achieved.

The Lovejoy Honors Band led by Mr. Cruz, and the Lovejoy Symphonic Band led by Mr. Bachrach, participated in the UIL concert and sight reading contest at Pottsboro HS and received Superior ratings from all six judges and the coveted Sweepstakes Trophy. Please congratulate our students on a great performance and for establishing a tradition of excellence.

About This Site

So much can be said in a name. In our case, our name says it all. First and foremost, this web site is a labor of love by a group of parents to celebrate the school district that is the heart of our community.

Lovejoy is a community of students, teachers, staff, parents, grandparents and residents of all ages. This is a web site by and for our community. There are so many good things happening in this community on a daily basis that we had to dedicate a whole web site to showcase them.
