This summer, Stone Scalf, a 3rd grader in Ms. Davis’ class at Puster Elementary entered a national contest called SPONSAFIER. It is through Toyota Racing and is for NASCAR. Stone loves NASCAR, knows all the drivers and watches the races intently.
The contest is in 5 phases. Stone has worked hard to get votes for his car. He made cards and handed them out. He & his sister made a video and a Facebook page. Stone’s car has already made it through the first round of public voting. In fact his car was in 18th place with over 23,000 cars at the end of Phase I. The next step, Phase II, began last week with a judges selection campaign and a subsequent judges pick of the final top ten. Stone's car is in 5th Place in Phase II.
Please help guaranty Stone's car makes it though Phase II and into the Top Ten.
Go to this link www.sponsafier.com/share/5883 and click the LIKE button to show your support. His car's name is FIRE. NO membership and NO sign up is required! It's easy and painless. You may LIKE it once a day, everyday until 10/04.
The judges picks are then reintroduced as the Top Ten FINALIST and will be voted on again in Public Voting II. If his car is in the TOP TEN during Public Voting II everyone can go to Stone’s design page again and vote for his car ONCE PER DAY FOR 15 DAYS. I will be sure to let you know if his car is chosen as a Top Ten FINALIST.

Information: Third grade students at Puster observed properties of matter while rotating to “Matter Stations” throughout the week. They learned that properties of matter may be described by their texture, color, shape, size, measurements, and how they move. They investigated various properties of solids, liquids, and gases then recorded their observations in their science journals. |

First graders at Puster are excited about what they made in the Puster science lab last week. Each student grew a crystal. They used heat to make this change happen. The students looked at the crystals under the digital microscopes. They were amazed at all the beautiful crystals that they grew. The first graders are growing into amazing scientists. |

First Grade students at Puster are studying graphing this week. The students are enjoying gathering information from their friends by using tally marks. They are then graphing the information into a bar graph or a picture graph. They are answering lots of questions about the graphs they make. The students are finding out lots of things about each other this way! |
