3rd graders at Puster Elementary are applying what they’ve learned so far this year in their class novel study. They are really enjoying these books! Creating foldables, illustrating the author’s use of sensory imagery, and expanding their vocabulary are just a few of the ways they have been “showing what they know!”

Students at Puster Elementary School enjoyed rotating to each third grade classroom to participate in different Thanksgiving activities. They observed changes in matter while learning about how the Pilgrims made butter then made their own homemade butter. They created turkey feathers to show different ways to solve a multiplication word problem. They identified and wrote noun and adjective pairs relating to Thanksgiving then wrote sentences using those pairs. Finally, students learned more about why we celebrate Thanksgiving and reflected on what they are thankful for.

This week our Puster GATE 10 students participated in critical-thinking team building activities.  Here they are attempting to build the highest free-standing tower out of the materials given to them while communicating with their team without talking.

So much can be said in a name. In our case, our name says it all. First and foremost, this web site is a labor of love by a group of parents to celebrate the school district that is the heart of our community.

Lovejoy is a community of students, teachers, staff, parents, grandparents and residents of all ages. This is a web site by and for our community. There are so many good things happening in this community on a daily basis that we had to dedicate a whole web site to showcase them.
