Good evening!
Our fifth graders returned from camp today, happy and tired! I made the trip to camp last night and spent the evening with the students. The rain came in during dinner, but after the brief rain the students were able to attend the campfire at the lake. Camp is a wonderful experience for the students and many memories were captured on camera! I’m sure if you have a fifth grader in your home they will have many stories to tell!
I want to thank you for the support and kind words so many of you have sent my way after the loss of my mother last week. Being gone for two weeks from Puster was very hard and I missed everyone. However, I am extremely thankful for the time I had with her during those two weeks. I want to thank Kevin Parker and the entire staff for all they did in my absence.
No School
A reminder that there is no school for students on, Friday, October 9th and Monday, October 12th.
From the Counselor:
As we reach the end of the first six weeks of school, I'm wondering where those days went! Was it really six weeks ago we saw your children walk through the Puster doors on the first day of school? Our second Puster Pillar of Character will focus on RESPONSIBILITY. October is a perfect month to review responsibility to self and others as we celebrate Red Ribbon Week the 23rd-30th. Our theme is "Paws"itively Drug Free. Detailed information will be announced in a couple of weeks. Enjoy your weekend.
PTA Reflections Contest
Reflections is a program that encourages and honors outstanding work created by children in Art, Literature, Photography, Film Production, Musical Composition, and Dance Choreography. We have some amazing talent at Puster and this is a time for the students to shine! Please encourage your child to participate in this year's contest. The theme is “Beauty is….” The students must submit their work to the Puster front office by Monday, November 2. For details and entry forms, go to www.txpta.org/programs/reflections.
Destination Imagination Awareness and Kickoff Meeting
The kickoff meeting for Destination Imagination is Tuesday, October 6 from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. in the LHS Lecture Hall. Parents and students are invited to attend. DI team members engage in creativity, critical thinking, creative problem solving, and teamwork, with DI Challenges, otherwise known as a great practice drill for the challenges of real life! This is a wonderful opportunity for our students and I encourage you to attend the meeting. If you are unable to attend but would like more information, please see the attached flyer or contact our campus coordinator, Eva Logan @
