From the Candidate:

gilbeau Re-elect Mike Guilbeau

Lovejoy Trustee

Position 3

It is with experience, passion and a proven track record that I ask you to re-elect me, for a third term, as your Lovejoy ISD Trustee. Serving as your LISD Trustee for the past six years has been a great privilege. As we approach the graduation of our first senior class we have achieved extraordinary success.

During my six years on the board Lovejoy ISD has:

· opened three schools

· implemented a secondary program

· earned exemplary ratings at all schools and district level

· scored in the top 1% of schools in the state for commended performance

LISD is the top rated 3A school in UIL performances and is one of the most sought-after school districts for education, employment and mentoring

It is critical we:

· Maintain continuity with the leadership that has created the unprecedented success Lovejoy has experienced.

· Continue the tactical implementation of developing every student to his or her fullest potential.

· Develop future leadership: teachers, principals and administrators who will ensure continued student success.

I have a clear understanding of the work needed to continue our success. I bring experience in technology, college and workforce preparedness, and on-the-ground experience with the academic and athletic programs. My experience will help assure that today’s pre-school and elementary students will enjoy the similar successes to those experienced by the 2010 graduates.

I want to continue serving as your school board trustee. Your vote on May 8th is a vote to continue what we started.

From the Candidate:

image Our American heritage entitles us to privileges as well as to obligations. It is our greatest possession. Therefore, we should invest this endowment carefully and wisely in our children.

As a result, this investment will yield profitable dividends: children who are aware of their citizenship responsibilities and who are capable of maintaining and continuing the principles of democracy in our homes, community, state, and nation.

For a few years there has been something eating at the back of my mind and until recently I wasn’t able to put it into words.

I thought that at this time in my life I would be retired and that I would be “Mr. Wizard” entertaining all the neighborhood kids with science.

My epiphany has made me realize that most kids no longer have a sense of wonder and are no longer inquisitive. Most kids no longer ask, “Why?” or have a desire to take things apart to see how they work. They seem to sit in front of the television, get on the Internet, play video games, and send text messages.

My concern and goal is to see that EVERY child is given the best education that the world has to offer. That every child be prepared to enter the adult world and is able to care for themselves. That every child be prepared to be the best at what they want to do. That every child be a productive citizen of our community, state, nation, and the world.

This means that as a school board trustee I would:

  • Do what I Say
  • Do the job to the Best of My Ability
  • Stand for Fiscal Responsibility
  • Stand for Personal Responsibility
  • Stand for Individual Accountability
  • Be Accessible to All
  • Call for Truly Open School Board Meetings
  • Maximize the use of district staff and administrators
  • Ensure the current level of school taxes go directly to improve student academic education and/or go to increase classroom teacher compensation.
  • Constantly look for ways to improve academic education for less tax dollars
  • Be a Living Example of Citizenship in our homes, community, state, and nation
  • I ask for your consideration, your support, and your vote.  Please visit my web site at www.Essary.com for more information.

    Thank you for your consideration.
