Two Sloan Creek Middle School students take top honors at the 1st annual Youth Engineering Fair held on May 22, 2010.  Seinna Scalf and Heidi Zettl took 1st and 2nd place respectively in the instant challenge bridge building competition.  Kits were provided for the construction of the bridges so each child recived the exact same materials. There were three others instant challenge projects constructed on that day which was a weighted bungee, a rubber band airplane and an egg drop. There were 71 teams registered from over 30 schools including students from Allen, Denton, Irving, Lewisville, Lovejoy, McKinney and Plano.   The event was organized by the Chinese Institute of Engineering and sponsored by Lockheed Martin and Texas Instruments for children in grades 1 - 12.
