Dear Parents,
Due to the high number of students with flu-like symptoms at Sloan Creek, we are going to close school on Monday, September 28.  In an effort to give students and staff a window to get well, we are going to cancel school. We've had above average absences yesterday and today, over 250 students were reported absent today.  The parents are reporting that the students are feverish, have headaches, sore throats and coughs, and are feeling achy. Parents, as a precaution, it would be advisable to limit your middle school children from interacting with other adolescences until Tuesday. Also, if you have a middle school child who is ill and you also have an elementary or high school student, please keep them at home if you have the slightest indication that they are coming down with an illness. Our goal is to contain this mild, but obviously contagious, illness as much as possible.
Students in athletics will not have practice on Monday and Tuesday morning, and the Tuesday night game will be rescheduled for another date.  Practice will resume for all middle school athletics on Wednesday morning.
Parents are welcome to come to school and pick up their children today at your earliest convenience.  Otherwise, we will have the normal dismissal at 3:50.
