Olvera canned a 3 to start the second period, but Rains responded with a 3 of their own to keep Lovejoy's lead at 5. Leffingwell hit a beautiful three point shot to put the Leopards up by 8 with 6:30 left in the half. McBride found Olvera inside for an easy bucket, but Rains responded with two quick scores to keep the game close. Leffingwell converted a third chance opportunity to restore the Leopard lead to 7, but Rains rallied to narrow the lead again. Millie Rivera then capitalized on an and one opportunity. Rains began to press and it was successful until McBride hit a 3. Rivera got a breakaway layup to give Lovejoy their first double digit lead of the evening, 30-20, with just
over two minutes left. Rains would not be denied however and cut the lead to 6 with less than a minute left in the half. The home team then sank a three pointer at the buzzer to close to within three points at the half, 30-27.

Rains scored on their first possession of the second half to trim Lovejoy's lead to one. Olvera found a seam down the lane and made a layup to put the Leopards back up by 3, but Rains sank a three at the other end to tie the score at 32 with 4:57 left in the third. Coutney Smith made a second chance basket, but Rains matched that effort to keep the score tied. Lovejoy's press resulted in a Rains turnover but Lovejoy could not convert. They did get a stop at Rains' end but failed to score, leaving the contest knotted at 36 with one quarter left to play.

The Rains press resulted in an early lead for the Lady Wildcats, but McBride found Leffingwell inside to get the Lady Leopards back to even. Rains got a three at the other end but Leffingwell trimmed the Wildcat lead to one point with 5:00 left. Rains stretched the lead to 2 with a free throw, but McBride tied the score at 42 all with 3:42 left.  Lovejoy could not get a stop, but Amber Bassett got 2 off a press break to tie the score again. Rains converted on their next possession to give the home team a two point lead with 1:36 left. Leffingwell canned a three to give the Lady Leopards a one point margin with just under a minute left. Rains got two on their possession, putting the home team up by one. Leffingwell was fouled at Lovejoy's end but could not convert the one and one. This forced Lovejoy to foul, putting Rains at the line in the double bonus. They only made one, but Lovejoy was forced to foul when Rains regained possession off the miss and the Wildcats managed to stretch the margin. It put the game out of reach for Lovejoy. Final score:  Rains 52, Lovejoy 47.

The loss means that Lovejoy will likely share the district title with Princeton. Which team will receive the bye in the first round of the playoffs has yet to be determined.
