Red Team Falls to Ford
On Ford's first drive of the game Dalton Simmons sacked their QB for a fifteen yard loss. However on the next play Ford's big running back ripped off a 78 yard touchdown run. Ford missed the extra point attempt. A Grant Fate pass was completed to Alexander Hopkinson, however, there was a fumble giving the ball back to Ford. Simmons recovered a Ford fumble to get the ball back. Both teams would have trouble hanging onto the ball in the chilly weather. Fate was forced to punt and responded with a 40 yard punt to the Ford 30. After five solid defensive plays by Brad Trimper, Carter Benno, Ben Krumrei and Simmons, Ford fumbled and the ball was recovered by Tim Rekieta. Fate completed three passes in a row to end the first quarter. Then on 4th and nine, on the 24yard line, Fate hit Sam Victor for a 19 yard gain down to the five yard line. However a fumble by Lovejoy turned the ball back over to Ford. Benno and Trimper forced a Ford punt and the snap was fumbled and Lovejoy took over at first and goal from the two yard line. Benno took the handoff and tied the game at 6 as the Leopards missed their extra point attempt. The kickoff was returned to the 50 and the Mustangs ripped off three straight running plays and scored on a 25 yard scamper. The missed extra point gave Mustangs a 12-6 advantage. Blake Parker in at QB, completed four passes, three to James Thomas and one to Carter Benno. On 3rd and 15 with Fate back at the controls he found Victor for a 25 yard gain down to the five yard line and set up a Leopard first and goal. Fate's pass was tipped and intercepted to stop the drive. A nice drive by the offense was stopped when Fate was picked off across the middle. Jeremy Drum returned the favor as he then picked off a Ford pass and returned it 62 yards for a Leopard TD. The extra point resulted in a Lovejoy lead 13-12. Ford used a long eleven play drive and scored to leave the final score at 20-13.
The Red Team ended with a 3-5 record. Congratulations to all of the boys and the coaches for their great effort on the field.

Black Team Airs it out on the Mustangs
It was a chilly Tuesday night when the Allen Ford Middle School Mustangs Blue Team met the Lovejoy Sloan Creek Leopards Black Team on the field at the Lovejoy High School Stadium. The Leopard offensive line did a great job all night giving the Leopards quarterback Bryce Lusby ample time to lead the offensive charge. Lusby was able to team up with Mick Ellis for two touchdowns in the first half. Ellis capped off both touchdowns by kicking the point after attempts for an additional 4 points. The Leopard defense was able to keep the Mustang offense from scoring in the first half with great defensive plays from the defensive line as well as some great tackling by Ellis, Daniel Sefick, Alex Hamilton, Travis Burger, John Embry, Ben Minissale and Chachie Luce. Sefick, Burger, Ellis, and Grant Jarvis rounded out the offense with positive yards both on the ground and in the air. Score at the end of the half Ford 0- Sloan Creek 16
The Mustangs were finally able to put some points on the board with a touchdown on their first possession in the second half and then again in late in the third quarter but were unable to convert the point after attempts. The Leopard defense held tough and kept the Mustangs from scoring in the fourth quarter. Both Jarvis and Ellis snagged interceptions while Luce, Riley Bevin, Mason Olk, and Patrick Welch kept up the great defensive tackling. The Leopards offense found success again in the second half with great runs by Hamilton, Ellis and Carter Daly additionally Ellis, Luce, Daly and Hamilton were able to gain yardage in the air with pass receptions from quarterback Lusby. Final score Mustangs 12 - Leopards 24.
The Black team had great season ending with a 5-2-1 record. Congratulations to all of the boys and the coaches.
