When the State Fair of Texas opens September 26th, Lovejoy Elementary 5th grader Heidi Zettl's acrylic painting will be featured in the Arts and Crafts Building. Heidi's painting of an old fashioned wagon filled with flowers will be displayed with a ribbon of "Honorable Mention".

There are many talented kids at Lovejoy, and Heidi hopes that more of her classmates will enter next year's 2009 State Fair. Mark your calendars, applications for next year's contest are due August 1st 2009. What a fun summer activity! There are dozens and dozens of categories, one for every interest from knitting to cooking.
