Both of our sons were new to Lovejoy Elem. this year and we were so lucky to get two VERY AMAZING teachers: Mrs. Parker in 3rd grade and Mrs. Hicks in 2nd grade. Mrs. Parker- You truly touched all of us. Our son felt so very loved by you as you made him feel good about himself by your caring and helpful nature. He went from being very nervous about starting a new school to a very confident boy who was able to make friends, slow himself down with test taking, and feel comfortable enough and well liked enough to be himself. To us this is pricelss and you will forever have made a positive impact on us. Mrs. Hicks- You again truly touched all of us as well. You were able to peel apart all the layers that our second grade son has and get to know him for who he really is, not the tough front he feels he sometimes has to put on. You figured out a way to reach him so that he would not be turned away from school and learning. You challenged him to challenge himself and because of that he thrived academically with you. You realized what we get so scared teachers will not realize...that every child is not the same, they may be the same age but they are very different on the inside therefore not every child may learn in the same manner and a good teacher like you realizes this and makes adjustments accordingly so that every child thrives in his or her own way. For this we thank you and appreciate you so much!!!WE cannot say it enough that both these teachers were truly amazing and made our first year in the Lovejoy School District and amazing one!!

What an awesome day! Being able to witness the first graduation class of LHS made me so proud to be part of this great district.  After graduation our staff luncheon & awards was a great ending to a very successful year.  Thanks to all the Lovejoy staff who makes this such a special place.  Hope you have a nice relaxing summer and I'll see you all in late July for Learning @ Lovejoy.

I would like to wish the teachers and staff at Puster Elementary a Happy Teacher Appreciation Week. You are all fantastic and make Puster and LISD the place to be.

My daughter Kailey is a second grader at Puster Elementary.  I am fully aware of how lucky she is to attend such a wonderful school in such an amazing district.  However, even I was caught off guard by how much her teacher has gone above and beyond for her.  Kailey is in Regina Hutcheson's second grade class and she became sick the day of the class Valentine's party.  Kailey was sent home for the day around lunchtime and she was very upset to have missed the party.  Imagine my suprise when after school that day, the doorbell rang. It was Mrs. Hutcheson stopping by to see if Kailey felt ok and to bring her the Valentine's that she had received from her friends.  Kailey was so excited because she thought she would miss out on everything.  Thank you Mrs. Hutcheson for being an AMAZING teacher!!!!!

Band UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest

The LHS Band Students competed in the UIL Region 25 Solo & Ensemble Contest this weekend at Prosper High School.

3 Ensembles received an "Excellent" Rating

8 Solos received an "Excellent" Rating

8 Ensembles received a "Superior" Rating

38 Solos received a "Superior" Rating

Also, several of our students have qualified for the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest to be held in May.

Congratulations to Coach Herrema and the Lovejoy Leopards Boys Basketball Team who won the Area Championship on Thursday evening and advance to the Regional Quarter finals tonight (3/1) at Texas A&M Commerce.  Thank you Coach Herrema for your patience and belief in these boys.....Go "get em" Leopards!!

By accident yesterday, I walked into the Community Senior luncheon at St Jude's church.  I was so proud to hear the LHS Jazz band entertaining the seniors for their Valentine Luncheon.  Also, the LHS Pal's group was there serving and tending to the guests.  All wore big smiles and truly enjoyed helping others in our community.  Thanks to all that helped this happen.  Our graduates will truly know what community service can feel like!  Well done!!

A HUGE THANK YOU to all our district staff who have given their support to Leopard Lacrosse:  Coach Puckett, we couldn't have done it without you; Ted Moore, thanks for helping us promote it; Linda Green - for helping me schedule the fields; and all the principals for helping us get the word out.  You've each welcomed this group for our boys and it's made the difference in making it possible!

Thanks to Greg Christensen, Josh Allen and Amanda Douglas for all of your dedication to the LHS CrossCountry teams!  Your talents as coaches show in BOTH the Girls and Boys teams winning second place at the State meet in Round Rock last Saturday.  We appreciate the hard work from you and our kids!

Thank you to Lisa Ellrich for her years of volunteering in our schools and community.  She served as President for Hart PTA and then as a school board member.  Her contributions will be felt for years to come.  Her leaving our district is a loss for us and our students and we wish her and her family all the best!

A BIG thank you to Ms. Bethany Green and all the voice teachers for showing once again why LHS has one of the TOP CHOIRS in the Region. To have 8 singers in the All Region Mixed Choir and another 12 with 1 alternate make the Treble Choir SINGS VOLUMES for our program.  GREAT JOB LHS choir members and thank you Ms. Green!!
