On-line Registration Is Open for the Lovejoy Country Run
The Lovejoy Country Run 5K race and 1K fun run is set for May 15. On-line registration is now open at www.LukesLocker.com and at www.thelovejoycountryrun.com. This is the fourth year for the event, and the number of runners will reach over 1,000 this year. Proceeds are split between the 13 athletic booster clubs at LHS. Young runners have a great time running the 1K fun run on the school track and running through the inflatable leopard head used at varsity football games. All ages compete for trophies and medals on the certified 5K race course which runs up Rock Ridge Road. As always, the pancake breakfast, bounce houses, face painting, and live band "Beat Red" make for a festive morning. Don't miss the fun. Check out our website and photos at www.TheLovejoyCountryRun.org.
High School Principal Selection
We are spending a good deal of time in searching for the right candidate to become the second principal of LovejoyHigh School. We are currently reviewing applications and conducting screening interviews. Total applications are approaching 150 and we have paper screened all of them to date and conducted 3 screening interviews. I very much appreciate the time that many of you gave to offer input on the profile of the new principal. If you would like to offer input and have not yet had an opportunity to attend a meeting, please know you are welcomed to either call or email me with your thoughts.
As always, I am very proud to serve this community as superintendent. Last Saturday night, I had the pleasure to celebrate the Lovejoy ISD with the Foundation’s annual gala. It was fun and due to your generosity, the Foundation will be able to make a significant contribution to the education of your children. I am sure they will be announcing the total amount earned within the next 30 days.
