Dear Lovejoy Community:
Tonight is the last home football game for the playoff bound Lovejoy Leopards. This is senior night and senior athletes and band members will be recognized in a pre-game ceremony. The pre-game will being at 6:45; come early.
LHS Enrollment
The University Interscholastic League (U.I.L.) undergoes a realignment process every two years. This review determines the classification and the district within which the school will compete. This is a realignment year and per U.I.L. rules, we are required to submit our October enrollment at the high school to determine classification. The number we submitted was 949 students and unless the U.I.L. makes a signification reduction in the upper limit of Class 3A, Lovejoy should get two more years in Class 3A. We will know both our classification and assigned district in February 2010.
Tax Ratification Election (TRE)
As you know, this community passed our TRE in September. The Fall cycle for TREs has finished, and statewide slightly more than 60% of them have passed. The TRE in Lovejoy will bring an additional $420,000 to our schools.
Interested in Lacrosse—Leopard Lacrosse Parent Meeting
There will be a meeting on Monday, November 9th @ 7 pm in the SCMS Library. The meeting is for all parents with kids interested in playing for the club team. You will learn more about our program, membership, meet the board and our Head Coach, David Wang. Also, spirit wear will be on sale. Teams are now forming for 3rd/4th grade boys, 5th/6th grade, and 7th/8th grade. Also, there is an opportunity to explore Lacrosse as a possible activity for your child. Leopard Lacrosse is holding a ‘Come Out and Try It’ Clinic on Saturday, November 14th from 12 -2 at the SCMS field. This event is for all interested players. You will see a demonstration of the game and get to try it by participating in different drills. Head Coach David Wang will lead the clinic. Visit www.leopardlacrosse.net for more club info.

- The first Lovejoy Fine Arts Festival will start at noon on Saturday Dec. 12 at Lovejoy High School. Admission is free. The festival will showcase the artistic talents of Lovejoy ISD students in the fine arts departments.
- LISD Board of Trustees will meet for Team of 8 training on November 7 and the regular November meeting will be on November 17
I also wanted you to know:
The Leopard Football team will enter the playoffs next Friday, November 13 in Greenville.
The Leopard Cross Country Teams, boys and girls, will compete in the regional meet tomorrow in Arlington.
The Leopard Volleyball team advanced through the first round of playoffs last night and will play again next Tuesday.
